Verdi is a lead research scientist in the Visa Labs R&D team, primarily focusing on cloud computing, big data management, and applied machine learning. His main interest is in developing high performance, highly scalable systems and applications. Verdi joins Visa from Hewlett-Packard Labs Singapore where he led the R&D of a platform for mobile cloud applications. Prior to that, he was a technical specialist at Sun Microsystems Inc., focusing on grid and HPC (high performance computing). Verdi holds a PhD in computer science from National University of Singapore, and a BSc in Computer Science from University of Indonesia.​
