A number of Python libraries that we’ve written have become widely used. But they all started as personal projects: tools or utilities that we needed ourselves. In this talk we visit a number of case studies, both libraries of our own and of others. We also cover how you can take random useful snippets of code and turn them into installable libraries, and set them up for the “happy accident” of widespread use.
