Announcing Keynote Speaker: Wes McKinney

We are more than happy to announce that Wes McKinney kindly accepted our invitation to be the keynote speaker for PyCon Singapore 2013.

Wes McKinney is main developer of pandas and author of the new book "Python for Data Analysis" from O'Reilly Media. His main interest is in building high-productivity tools for data analysis. Formerly, he studied math at MIT and worked as a quant research analyst at AQR Capital Management.

When we started planning the conference we created a Poll on Facebook about which keynote speakers the community would like to see. Wes got by far the most votes (let's be fair, the votes for Guido don't really count) so it is needles to say that many of us are thrilled to get a chance to meet Wes in person, soon.
